MARC QUESTION

Feedback: What is the Australian Piping method and where can i find good information on the internet about it

ROSE REPLY

it is extremely intricate royal icing piping and often lace work on cakes that have been covered with rolled fondant. i don't know where on the internet you would find information about it but there are many wonderful books. sweet celebrations carries them.

check with wilton for classes in gum paste in your area. candy and cake decorating supply stores often offer them.

I have used a calligraphy lettering stamp & food paste colouring mixed with a little vodka, to stamp onto icing cut outs ie hearts or circles, works well. You could go over with royal icing to make the letter more bold.

I have never done this work personally but can make two recommendations: contact Jan Kish, a former student of mine who does this type of thing. She may give you some guidance if you want to make it yourself or you could even hire her to do it. 614/848-5855. You could also contact sweet celebrations or Wilton. they may have the equipment necessary along with instructions.

Hello, my daughter is getting married in April. We are trying to make hand made monogrammed wedding cookies for favors. She really likes the printed letters look. I have tried everything from painting it on to stenciling to make it look somewhat like the picture but nothing seems to work. Please help!!!
