House in Hope in Spring
I always hate to leave when the rhododendrun is in full bloom.
We have tons of irises I brought from the old house in Hainsburgh. (Yes we just moved a little down the alphabet!) Unfortunately only the yellow ones seem to survive with a very few purple ones. The gorgeous scarlet ones were probably too delicious for the chipmunks and ground hogs to resist.
The vase is an antique my father gave me belonging to an old man, John Zerkelese, who worked in his shop many years ago.

Can I move in?
Rhododendrums and irises are my favorites. Rhododendrums thrive in our volcanic acidic red dirt without any amendments, but only on higher elevation areas when is a bit cooler at night. The only irises I see are the floating ones covering ponds.
Thanks for sharing. Make some conserve out of your flower petals!

Beautiful flowers. In Texas, begonia are everywhere in bloom and the crepe myrtle. I have canna in my courtyard that are now blooming, and of course the blue bonnets.
I was hoping to plant a meyer lemon tree this year but didn't get to it. And I've been wanting to plant some edible flowers, but the Texas sun beats delicate flowering plants to death once the heat sets in.
