Preview of the New Book!

Apr 12, 2009 | From the kitchen of Rose

The blad is in! A blad is an abbreviation for book layout design and is produced mainly to show prospective book buyer accounts the general look and content.

To me, it feels rather like an ultra sound in color.

Of course the book will be much more beautiful but I thought it would be fun for you to enjoy all the various stages along with me.

Here's a link to Rose's Heavenly Cakes on Amazon and available for pre-order.

Oh Rose! Everything looks gorgeous! Can't wait to get my hands on this. September is so far away!

Richard, I haven't tried it without nuts but since they are there for flavor and some texture but not structure I think it would be fine without them and still very delicious without adding anything else.

if you try it do let us know.

i think it would be great to have all cookbooks on a kindle type of device but don't think the publishers are ready to work out this type of deal as yet. it's complicated. eventually I'm sure it wil happen.

just want to add that my gmail wasn't working for about 2 weeks so i didn't realize there were any postings. then i started wondering why no one was responding to anything i wrote! so glad to have it back and really enjoyed seeing all your responses to the book preview!

I mean Kate took the knife and whacked it down the middle : O

My favorite photo: The heart shaped cake with the 2 forks digging in. Now that's the way to enjoy cake! It reminds me of an episode of Kate & Allie when they were consoling themselves with chocolate cake. When Allie tried to cut small wedges, Allie took the knife, whacked it down the middle and shoved half onto each plate.

I'm so excited! I have all of your books and I made the black chocolate party cake this weekend. It is beyond divine! I think I'll play around and make it with hazelnuts and frangelico in the syrup. I can't wait to get my hands on the new book! Thank you so much for sharing the blad!

You're right - the photos in color are stunning!

A true work of art! I can't wait to get my hands on it! :-D

Looks amazing. Are there any plans for a Kindle version?

Also, the black chocolate cake looks amazing. I would love to make it for work, but some people there are allergic to nuts. Would I just eliminate the walnuts, or replace them with cocoa or flour (and if so, what protein/gluten content)? Is there a non-nut alternative that similarly enhances the chocolate flavor?

These are magnificent! I want to make them all. I'm so excited about the book, thank you for sharing the blad (who knew something called a blad could be so special?).

Thank you a million times for sharing this with us Rose. If I hadn't already pre-ordered this book the pictures alone would have made me do it. I am soooooooo excited. The pictures are stunning. Congratulations! You've done a great job (again).
