PBS 103: Chocolate Pies and Tortes

May 13, 2009 | From the kitchen of Rose

Food and Wine Magazine chose this recipe from my book The Pie and Pastry BIbleto include in their Best of the Bestcookbook. It's my favorite as well. So on this segment I coupled it with the favorite cake/torte in The Cake BibleThe Chocolate Oblivion Truffle Torte.

the best way to make these types of decisions maureen is to taste the raisin and then the craisin! i personally would not change the sugar.

Thank you for posting these recipes during your trip to France, which I hope was sublime. Everyone's looking forward to my making the peanut butter/chocolate tart.

Today I made Mrs. King's Irresistibles from your Christmas cookie book. The best oatmeal cookie ever. Just for color, I'm thinking of trying it with Craisins next time. What do you think? If I go with the cranberries, should I increase the sugar just a touch?

Thanks and welcome home.

Actually, I found it at the below address after I posted the question last week. I made one after I found it and it was really delicious, especially the peanut butter mousse.

I'm crossing my fingers that someone will post the recipe. Maybe Annie?

I wanted to make the Peanut Butter Mousse Tart just as soon as I finished watching the segment! But the recipe isn't on the Baking Magic page. Does anyone know if it's available elsewhere on the site? (I've bought the CB but don't have the P&PB.) Thanks, Emilie

I've made the Peanut Butter/Choc Mousse Tart many times - it really is one of the best - not just from the P&PB but anywhere!!
