My Favorite Summer Lunch

Jun 28, 2009 | From the kitchen of Rose

BB%20Lunh.jpg

This is a fantastic year for New Jersey blueberries. I empty a container of no fat high-quality plain yogurt into a bowl, swirl in some lemon curd, a sprinkle it with blueberries! Simple, healthful, and heavenly!

Special note: I've finally figured out how to post my own photos on the blog. I was motivated to figure it out because I wanted to post this right away before life and the NASFT food show take over tomorrow.

Yum! I Love Blueberries and lemon curd. Beautiful Picture too. And Rose...go ahead and grab Elliot's dish, we all have little quirks that our other halfs have to put up with. I don't think an occasional photo is so much to "pay" for the fabulous food you turn out LOL.

Tell Elliot he isn't the only victim! The first time I went to Italy, I was often forced to put my camera away when dining! The second time I went, just a little over a year after, I officially told everyone I was a food paparazzi; it worked, I was even allowed to destruct the dishes and put them back together for styling! I will never forget this second trip: my friends took me to the flower market instead of the Vatican in Rome, or to the parmesan cheese store instead of the municipal castle in Bologna, or to the white trouffle festival instead of the Pisa tower, or to the alessi store instead of the sta maria di fiori church!

The third time to Italy, I plan to bring photo crew!

Mmmm, I can taste it now. Looks fabulous, and I love how your bowl coordinates with the berries, yet artfully contrasts with the lemon curd and yogurt. Delicious to the eye as well as the palate!

The recipe sounds delicious! I do something similar with plain yogurt and blueberries, but I add honey instead of the curd. I've never thought of adding lemon curd, which is such a great complement to the blueberries and the creaminess would go very well with the yogurt.....great idea! I sometimes have left over lemon curd.

Great job, Rose! The photo is very appetizing. The blueberries' color is very vibrant.
