I ordered my copy and it just arrived today. The book is beautiful! The recipes are so well written with many tips like my other favorite, Rose's Chrismas Cookies. I can't wait to try the German Chocolate Cake. I have been promising this one to my husband for over a year now since his birthday last October.

Measure how many cups of water each pan holds, if the same then it is interchangeable. For cakes with baking powder, according to the wedding cake chapter, the batters for pans from 6 to 9 inches use the same amount of baking powder, so your 8 and 9 inch pans fall on this range.
The proportion of fruit to cake may taste better if baked on a shallower 1.5" pan...

I love your new book. I baked the apple upside down cake yesterday. Are 9x1 1/2" and 8x2" pans interchangeable? Thank you.

A new life and new generation of modern cakes! Congratulations. How about, you all go to Amazon and post your reviews.
Zach's La Bomba and Woody's Lux Cake are stunning! Can hardly wait to try them. Give me about 1 month of rest, my waistline is now 32.5 and needs to be 32, just finished my 4th wedding cake from the book!

Another bravo goes to you Zach, for your contributions to the book. The bomba and ingots look incredible (I love cacao nib - the scharffen berger nibby bar is a favorite of mine). Also, I have been waiting to make the stunning laqueur glaze since I first saw it on the Foote-Patterson wedding cake Rose made (and posted about) back in early 2007. So lovely to see it complete in the book, and great that you collaborated with Rose to perfect the laqueur glaze!

Rose- Congratulations on this beautiful new book! I learned to make cakes from the original Cake Bible. Thank you so much for all your hard work on all your recipes, as well as your generosity to all of here on this website. I ripped open the box containing your book on my doorstep last night, and am so impressed with the layout, and the large, high quality photos that allow one to really get a sense for the texture of the crumb, filling and frostings. My husband already has several requests. The photos really make an impact and will cause me to revisit some sections of the Cake Bible I might have neglected because there were not as many photographs.
Bravo!
