sorry kris--what i meant, of course, is that you can't make MY cakes without eggs. i know there are many subtsitutes and different recipes out there.

It's always great fun to try new recipies!! However, I just disagree TOTALLY with the last line, "You can't make cakes without eggs." Only if you are lazy...of course you can make delicious cakes without eggs -- and I do because my 9 year old daughter is allergic to eggs like many other children these days. Get with the program, Rose, and start thinking outside your little box.

I got my copy yesterday, so excited to try some recipes! I make the chocolate fudge cake from your cake bible nearly every month, so I expect it to be covered in flour very soon!!

Great interview. I can focus to the point of ignoring the laundry too. Sadly, I can't blame it on writing a cookbook.

I'll shut up soon I promise, but I'm so happy there are so many oil-based cake options. I love butter cakes, but my daughter's birthday comes in July when it is always sweltering, and keeping the butter at the correct temperature for a good result has been frustrating. Finally I can make her a high quality decorated layer cake that tastes as good as it looks, without the misery.

Yay! My daughter and I are sitting here swooning over the recipes. My expectations for this book were already high (I years ago gave up using any cake book other than the Cake Bible), and you've exceeded them, and then some.

Rose, I just got your book from Amazon, and it's INSANELY WONDERFUL :0) All the recipes beg to made immediately, and it's so beautiful to look at. I have *years* of fun ahead of me. Congratulations on another perfect cake book.
