charles, thank you so much for your concern and good advice which i have forwarded to the blog masters! much appreciated.

One thing I've noticed is that this blog never shows up when Googling on cake baking topics, unless you search on something like "Beranbaum". There are a lot of things you can do to give your blog a higher profile; one of the most basic is to provide a list of keywords in your blog html using a "" tag. Looking at the html source, this page does not contain this tag. If this isn't being done, chances are there are a lot of other things not being done that could improve the visibility of this site.

Rose, Once again thank you so very much! I am hoping to stop by some time next week, if it is convenient for you. I will be more specfic about the day and time as soon as I review my schedule for next week. I will also need to know your home address. You are so kind to do the signing for me. I am so excited! Warmest regards,
Dr. Paula Moynahan

Rose, Thank you so much for being so gracious about signing the books I have purchased. I am most appreciative and my friends will be thrilled! How can I best arrange to have the books signed? Many thanks, Dr. Paula Moynahan

harold, i don't add citric acid to my bread dough but i remember when investigating it's use the recommended amount was minute--maybe 1/32 teaspoon for a pound of flour. you should check with the company where you purchase it for their recommendation.

REPLY

How much Citric acid may one add to the recipes in the Bread Bible?

REPLY

This new design is much easier to read and navigate. I wil be visiting much more often now!

REPLY

Thanks Rose,

I like to read the comments from the oldest to the newest because I find it to be more of a narrative that way and I can follow the conversation from the beginning. In any case the site is fantastic so I'll take it any way it comes.

Take care,
Janina

REPLY

i agree jeannette but it will be nice if possible to give people the choice.

REPLY

I think it is much better to have the newest messages at the top! It saves us scrolling down to the bottom to see the newest, just my opinion for what it's worth.

REPLY

i've forwarded your request to the blog masters!

REPLY

I was really enjoying reading the comments in order of oldest first and now you have switched it so that the newest are first. Since most other websites have the option that allows the reader to make this choice why can't this website?

REPLY

I like the new design, but I really miss the Al Hirschfeld sketch!

REPLY

Zach, your creations are absolutely stunning! You are a master at it. Love your website.

REPLY

The new layout is very attractive and bright! I like what I have seen so far. Like Annie, I am very impressed with your cakes and desserts, Zach, pity you're on the other side of the pond!

REPLY

BTW, Zach, love your cakes on your website. I don't think you charge enough, though! These are works of art.

REPLY

Rose, I have a laptop in the kitchen, so there you are watching me bake! I like that the new design is more modern and that it's more reflective of RHC. It'll take me a little time to get used to the new layout and look-and-feel.

REPLY

Sure thing--my pleasure!

Dear Rose,

The new blog looks terrific! I have purchased several of your wonderful books. I plan on giving them as Christmas gifts to my most special friends. I was hoping you could sign them for me. It would truly add such a lovely sentment and be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Dr. Paula Moynahan

Wow... moving on up in the blog world!
Looks great!

REPLY

there are so many new treasures such as the link to the you tube videos and recipes right at the top.

REPLY

Wow - I love it. Love the colors (which the white background brings out), love how the design ties to Heavenly Cakes. I especially love the photo of you at the top rather than a characature. It looks very easy to navigate (I like the next and previous post options at the bottom). It's a very inviting design.

I'll post more comments as I navigate through it, but it makes an impression when you first land on it. Someone used the words "light" which is no doubt a result of the less heavy background color.

Oh my, this really is beautiful. It's clean and uncluttered - really fresh!

The redesign looks absolutely beautiful!!

REPLY

Love the new look of your blog, Rose. It matches the warmth of you and your online baking community! and is much easier to navigate. You look the same after all these years I've known/seen you!
regards, Doreen N.

REPLY

I love it!! The design is much cleaner!
I did like how, in the old blog, the navigation was above the post title and instead of "previous post" or "next post" it actually had the titles of the posts. But that is a small thing--everything else is great!

REPLY

i like that paul! now i'm definitely going to tear myself away and go to bed--almost 11:30.

thank you everyone--really appreciate your enthusiasm!

REPLY

I like this! As light and airy as Rose's cakes.

REPLY

carlos, i was wondering, as a designer, what you would think! most gratified with your response. i definitely have that floating on air heavenly feeling!

REPLY

As a designer, I can only compare it to stepping into a newly renovated kitchen: same great baker, but with better flooring, lighting and wallcoverings. It's also the same feeling I got when I opened the book for the first time in regards to the photography, glossy pages and graphics. Love all of it. You should be proud.

REPLY

I like it. Very fresh, light and airy. Easy to read, open (nice use of whitespace) and easy to navigate. Well done!

REPLY

Lovely site! I am so enjoying your latest cookbook and cannot wait to bake from it. I think myself and others will bake one a month in 2010 - what fun!

REPLY

thanks nancy--i've forwarded your comments to the blog masters. you're right--the transition period will have a few glitches such as the rearrangement of posting order with newest at bottom needs to be changed back to newest on top. hopefully the glitches will be minor and resolved very quickly.

REPLY

Very pretty--in my secondary browser. My primary browser shows a mish-mash of text on top of images, and is unreadable. Looks like there's some sort of css or javascript incompatibility in the new design that my browser can't cope with. I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.20 on a Mac.

I also got very odd links in my feed on iGoogle this afternoon, with some sort of print page reference that didn't resolve to the actual blog post. Hopefully that was only over the transition period, as this post came through OK.

REPLY

It's beautiful, Rose! Congratulations!

Ooh Rose, it's terrific, I love it! The white is much easier on the eyes and the peachy colors in the forum is very nice. The layout on the main blog page is easier to navigate as well. I like it!
