Rose,
I voted! I do hope you'll win. I love RHC - every cake I've made from it are always so awesome.

Thanks Zach. I came across this one last night too (on a diff site though). I think it's Danish but I can read some Swedish so I'll be able to figure it out. It appears to be a sponge cake, with a meringue base, filled with jam-infused whipped cream, covered in marzipan.

Sukkerbrødsbunn: (sponge cake)
6 egg (eggs)
140 g sukker (sugar)
140 g hvetemel (flour)
0,5 ts bakepulver (baking powder)

Makronbunn: (meringue)
2 eggehviter (1 dl) (egg whites)
50 g sukker (sugar)
100 g sukker (sugar)
70 g hasselnøtter (hazelnuts)
15 g hvetemel (flour)

Fyll: (filling)
200 g jordbærsyltetøy (strawberry jam)
7 dl kremfløte (whipping cream)

Decoration:
marzipan
fresh fruit
chocolate

Here is the recipe, written in Swedish. Looks like a fun cake! Can anyone translate it?

Thanks Rose! That was my next step :o)

Congrats. I voted for you.

hanaa, i've never heard of it. check beatrice ojakansas's books as she's scandinavian and a baker!

I have an off-topic question: my friend is looking for a Scandinavian cake recipe called "Hvit Dame". It translates to "White Lady" and it's a cream cake covered with a marzipan. I told him I'd ask the Queen of Cakes, aka Rose :o) Have you heard of such a cake? I'm hoping you can point us in the right direction. Thanks much!

Ivoted. It's so exciting.

Woo hoo!

But regarding the multiple votes, I voted once when the book was first up for it awhile back when you made the first announcement and then again today. Maybe because it was the finals vs. "semi-finals?" I don't know, but I've voted twice already...

You might want to know that each voter has a chance of winning the top ten books.

thanks so much! yes amazon has a way of only allowing one vote per amazon account.

Congratulations, Rose. You deserve it! I just went and voted for RHC. Then I tried to vote again but it didn't let me :o) Oh well, it was worth a shot.
