Out-Cakes from Rose's Heavenly Cakes: Five Cakes

Feb 03, 2010 | From the kitchen of Rose

In response to a request from Susan for photos of the few cakes that were not pictured in the new book we have combed through our photo files and came up with some photos that while not perfectly styled shots will at least serve to show the textures of most of those cakes and/or frostings.

The cake on the left was baked in a silicone pan. The one on the right was baked in a cast aluminum pan. The difference in color of the chocolate swirl is only a function of how much batter was mixed into the chocolate and not the way the pan baked.

Hi Tammy,
Both cakes are in Rose's Heavenly Cakes. Genoise Tres Cafe pg 182 and the Coconut Cheesecake pg 250, as well as all of other cakes shown on the Out-Cakes.

Hi Rose. Thanks for the pictures. The cakes look beautiful. I will be baking some of these cakes real soon.

Positively Erotic! Especially the caramel ganache. I can only imagine how sublime it tastes. All the cakes photographed look superb. Now I know what I'm doing this winter...

Thanks for the photo of the caramel ganache. I was thinking of using it for a party cake but I think I need something a little bit stiffer (lots of piping.) Now I know what it will look like!

Have you thought of having an area of the site with photos of each recipe all in one place? :)

Thank you Rose! They all look perfect! I love the side by side of cast iron and silicone.
