Another Review to Share
May 11, 2010 | From the kitchen of Rose
Another very special review and recipe from the book, written by another long time friend, Miriam Rubin, and forwarded to me by a newer dear friend and blogger Matthew Boyer! It's so amazingly interesting to me to see how much of people's personalities are reflected in what they write in a review. And, I must say, I feel very appreciated and am wondering when it will be time to descend from cloud 9!

If this cake is for some one who really doesn't like cake...definitely go with the chocolate Oblivion in the cake bible...it isn't like cake...it is like eating a truffle.
If you do want something more "cake like" I really like the chocolate fudge cake in the cake bible...I liked the devils food in Rose's Heavenly cakes also...but still prefer the chocolate fudge in the cake bible. You could frost it with ganache...would be really amazing.

I was thinking somthing along a devil´s food cake with midnight ganache or thedeep choclolate passion wedding cake. Dont think that lm a pro because lm not just thaught l would get some help along the way from you pro´s. I like the idea of the ganche on the first one and the grand marnier on the second. just dont know which one is more moist and chocolaty. What do you think? I would have to cut the second cake into half because its way too big.

I liked this review, congratulations, Rose! I must admit that I prefer cookbook reviews where the reviewer has prepared something from the book.

Maria, how about the chocolate oblivion? There is a 9" round version in the Cake Bible, and a cupcake-sized version in Heavenly Cakes. It is like eating a cake made of the finest dark truffle filling.

Don't come down from cloud 9...you deserve to be there. My family went wild over the cakes I brought to our Mother's day celebration...all from the cake bible and Rose's heavely cakes. thanks so much.
