is new garlic aka green garlic available now at Farmer's Markets. Sweet, mild, but highly flavorful, sliced raw and mixed into pasta and pesto, it could be my very favorite thing to eat. don't miss it!

Thanks for the photo! I haven't seem them around the Berkshires, hopefully they'll surface in a week or two.
It's funny, the grocers up here seem to be offering just the bare-bones array of produce these days, no scapes, no fresh favas, no quince last Fall. Maybe the economy?

no the scapes are the upper part--if you put scapes in the search you'll see my photo of it from last year!
