ruth, i usually use natural ingredients in season or high quality rather than flavoring but when i do use essences they are of very high quality such as from france via la cuisine or mandy aftel's attelier. i find the lorann products artificial in flavor with a strange aftertaste.

Do you know about and/or have an opinion on using flavor extracts/oils (apart from vanilla, almond) such as banana, mocha, maple and others? I have seen a list of Lorann products and wonder. I cannot use butter in my baking and therefore look for strong flavors (e.g., chocolate) to compensate. Thank you.

Congrats Rose! You are the diva of dessesrts and meticulously so, and we love you for it!

Funny, this morning I re-watched the video on Heavenly Cake Place, where you announced the heavenly cake bake-a-long. Just for fun! I had forgotten what the video looked like and it made me smile thinking back to 17 months ago where I saw it and signed up with the bake through!
