thanks all for your delightful comments. actually knitting and baking are both closely related crafts. i come from a family with a tradition of crafts. one of my first words was "chaynenoo" and i kept crying and repeating it because what i was trying to say was crochet hook and no one understood what i wanted. it was an early 'toy.'
true i don't have time to knit but i do it in moments when i can't be doing anything else such as riding in the car or watching a video. i can knit without looking most of the time but the lacy scarf i made recently was not the case and i unknitted as much as i knitted!

WOW! This is such a gorgeous sweater! I'm so impressed with your talent that you not only bake so well but you can knit as well too! I wish i have the patience to complete knitting something!

Lovely, and a good fit. I remember seeing you working on this at the chocolate chip talk at NYU. I was knitting socks at the other end of the row.

How gorgeous (both sweater and model)! And you designed it yourself -- I am so impressed. It's always interesting to me that many "bakers" tend to be multi-talented -- I think we appreciate hand-made things and have to be "creating" in some way or another. I miss knitting...perhaps when the kids find yarn balls less interesting...
I too await the Knitting Bible!

it's clear that people who are amazingly talented and creative like you are can do multiple things well!
so when is your "knitting bible" coming out? :) i'm sure you have a ton of fans who love to bake and knit...

Beautiful sweater, Rose. Coincidentally I'm wearing for the first time today a sweater I knit last winter (the only one I've ever made). It has short sleeves and cannot accommodate much of a shirt underneath. Seemed like the perfect day for it. It's from Malabrigo chunky, and very soft.Lately I've been making Stephen West shawls. On the baking side, I made a wonderful sponge for Passover, and was very pleased with it other than for the fact that one side got swished when it fell out of the pan. Now on to the Martha Stewart TV segment (for the only RHC that I've already made 3 times).

Rose, Now honestly, when do you have the time to knit, too? That is lovely and a most pleasing shade of green for your skin tone. Does it feel as good as it looks on you? It's a beautiful craft which executed beautifully.

Yay! A fellow knitter! May I suggest you have a look at the Ravelry website if you haven't already been there?

Rose, beautiful sweater and lovely photo! I love the color of the sweater and the design. The collar/neck design is nice!
I'm in the middle of making a sweater (cashmerino wool blend) and a pair of wool socks. The sweater is a cable design - I got the front and back done, need to combine together to make a collar and make the sleeves.

Lovely, Rose! I like that green and I LOVE kid mohair. Is this your own design?
I am in the middle of making a pair of these socks in a creamy alpaca/bamboo/silk blend. Yummy.

The sweater is lovely. I can knit pretty well, but cannot cast on or pick up a dropped stitch.
Better stick to baking, huh?
