Becky,
We should ALL live by Julia's motto of 'everything in moderation.' So many folks I know who are constantly denying themselves pleasures at the table, but their hips and tummy's never diminish for it. I eat moderately and a balanced diet and stay within 2-3 pounds of my weight most of the time.

I've just read this article in the paper my mother-in-law left on our kitchen table during her recent visit. As I read it, I silently cheered; Woody and Rose are a bright ray of sunshine in this dark dieter's world! I, too, share a love of baking, and seeing this article (and your books) remind me there are many, many people out there (stead-fast dieters included) when I show up with a cake. Hooray for your endeavors.

Woody, very nice article in Taste section - GREAT JOB! I know the folks at Pace always enjoyed the cakes you brought in for us to try.

Keep it going.

Congratulations, Woody! What a wonderful article and a great interview, too! And, I might add, great pic! I almost made your LemLux this year for a b'day. I am now committed to making it for this person's next birthday!!!!

Many, many thanks to all of your wonderful comments.
The real star here is Rose, who compromised on her own rule of "working alone controls the variables" and took on a home baker who liked to bake cakes for friends and family.
We have found that working together has enhanced our baking and writing which is portrayed in Rose's Heavenly Cakes. She has given me the conduit to achieve my passion~~"giving to the community whether it is directly or touching lives that I will never meet or know, but benefited either in the making or receiving".

And the stars are all of you who yearn for knowledge in your baking quests and that your fellow bloggers and our words help you achieve your love for baking and your creations of happiness to others.
Enjoy~~

Hi Kyle,
The one in my hand is the KD-8000, but the KD-7000 was the workhorse for all of the testing for Rose's Heavenly Cakes.

Great article, Woody! Congrats on the exposure and the collaboration. Now, do tell, what scale is that in your hand? I need to upgrade mine and I am confused by all the good choices from myweigh. Any guidance suggestions?

I've been a fan ever since I heard Rose interviewed on "The Splendid Table" years ago. And to think, Woody lives in the Twin Cities! True how one email can have such an effect!

Woody, congratulations on the article! Great interview and lovely photo! As others, I also enjoy this inside peek on how things work between you and Rose being so far away from each other. Funny how 1 email changes things.

The quote about the pen is funny!

Woody, what a surprise and "gift" it was this morning, stumbling to my computer to read the TASTE section of our local paper, and seeing your smiling face there! I have always wondered how your thing with Rose worked.... with you being here in MInneapolis and the Cake Goddess being so far away. It's magic! We appreciate your presence!

Congratulations Woody. It's always so great to meet your geek doppelganger.
