I am an american-italian born. I love and enjoy baking. I have a talent for baking. I have even sometimes impressed myself in my ability to bake, and I never went to school. I am the kind of person who can watch and do. I even have come up with some of my own creations. At one time, I have a portfolio of all Cakes, Pies, and Cookies (Biscotti’s) that I have made. I remember, applying for a job in the kitchen for a local pastry shop (never got the position) and the baker was impressed and requested if she could keep my portfolio. Of course, I said “No,” which made me suspicious, as to why she would want to keep my portfolio, especially, if she is a “Professional” Pastry/Baker Chef? However, I also am a Singer, involved with a Choral Society. Also, I forgot to mention, that I have baked and sold by product privately, in my present employment. I have many request for eclairs, fudge brownies, venitian cookies, strawberry shortcake, and cannoli’s. At 1 time in my life, I have looked into attending classes at the former New York Resturant School. But, because of the shift they were offering, it was impossible for me to attend classes and attend to my employment. I had requested to take the full course of Pastry Chef and Business mgmnt. I would have qualfied for a gov’t loan grant. The admission coordinator was impressed by my portfolio also. Bottom line ..” I LOVE TO BAKE!”.
