Grew up in south/central California, moved to Boston to go to college in 1994. Graduated from MIT with a BSEE class of 1998, and went to work for a startup company named E Ink trying to make electronic paper a reality. I met my wife there, and we now own an old two family Victorian in Somerville and have a wonderful daughter name Ultraviolet.
I started cooking for real in high school when my dad and stepmom got divorced and she moved out. Though she helped me make a Buche de Noel for french class a year or two before that, and I had been making cookies and the like for a while. Then in college I lived in a coop and learned the hard way how to cook inexpensive meals for 30 people. These last few years I've been more into baking since my wife prefers to do the cooking and she is better than I am at it anyhow.
