Hi everyone,

I am trying to develop a good recipe for Tres Leches Cake.  For those that don’t know that is a popular cake in Latin America drenched in a milky sweet liquid.

That being said,  what kind of cake is most absorbent? It needs to be able to absorb a lot of sweet milk and still maintain good structure and not turn into mush.

Would that be a Genoise?

Yes. Rose has a recipe for it in “Rose’s Heavenly Cakes”.

Tres Leches. (or both, actually)

Thanks Charles! You’re always such a great help! I just purchased my copy of Rose’s Heavenly Cakes, and she does a Genoise type cake. Thanks for the tip! I really appreciate it!

Please let us know what you think of the cake. I only made it once, but I had never eaten this sort of cake before.
