Has anyone experimented with Rose’s vanilla cake recipe? I would like to use it as a base for various flavours like adding sprinkles for Confetti cake, switching sugar to brown and adding Bourbon for a Brown Sugar vanilla cake or adding crushed oreos for a Cookie’s and Cream cake. Experimenting with baking is costly in time and money so I thought I would ask peoples success here. Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by “vanilla cake”. Most of the cake recipes contain vanilla. I’m guessing you mean either the yellow cake or white cake? And sure, probably everyone has used it with variations. My guess, though, is that you can’t avoid experimenting yourself and making mistakes. The best bet for saving money is to chop the recipe in half or more and make small cakes. Something like a single 6” layer.
