Yellow cake quantity

I’m looking at making rose’s yellow butter cake from the cake bible (large special occasion cakes), the size I need is 18x12 inches level 6 which serves 80 with rose factor 7-8, will this be enough to make two layers or will I need to double the recipe?

I thought this would be enough to make two but in the buttercream section all the other sizes have an amount needed between layers but the size I want does not, so I’m wondering if I’d need to make two quantities. I’ve never baked at this scale before so if someone could point me in the right direction I’d really appreciate it.

I would measure the volume of the pans that she is suggesting you use and then measure the volume of your pan that you want to use and use the math to figure out how much you need to multiply the recipe by.

On a side note, I have been intrigued by that recipe. I have NEVER had yellow cake and for her to say its her favourite really makes me want to try it (with chocolate buttercream of course!).
