I was just looking at this recipe on Cooks Illustrated for a strawberry cream cake. I don’t think it’s exactly what you are looking for, but thought it was an interesting way to add the whole/cut strawberries on the outside of the cake, which is sort of the look you want.
I am taking my kids to pick strawberries next week. We normally make jam, but I still have some from last year, so I’m thinking of ising the strawberries for pies and one of these cream cakes!!!
