Here’s the cake I made for my daughter’s school for 180 ppl. White Velvet Butter Cake filled with chocolate mousseline and frosted with vanilla mousseline. All the pieces on the cake are fondant (recipe from TCB).

Rozanne rozanne rozanne.  It is perfect and gorgeous!  What stunning and tall and smooth sheet cake.  What elegant piping and decorations.  I hope parents noticed that this isn’t a $15 grocery store sheet cake…your is the most beautiful sheet cake I’ve seen!  Congratulations to you and your kinder girl!

Rozanne that is so cute! I did one for my little one’s “moving up” preschool ceremony (not graduation—two days to four in Sept, ha!). That sounds delicious, too. What size did you make? I have to try the white velvet butter cake!

Thank you very much Hector! You made my day.  smile  The cake was cold (from the fridge) and smoothening the buttercream was much easier somehow. It hardened slightly on contact making it smoother. I used my offset spatula.

Thank you Bernadette! I made a 9x13 cake. Rose Factor 4. Try the white velvet butter cake. It’s my favourite white cake.

I like the white velvet butter cake too.
that is a beautiful sheet cake, Rozanne! Although you have set the bar quite high for future celebration cakes. By my count, you will have at least three more graduation cakes to do for her!
Kidding! smile
Wonderful job. (Hector doesn’t normally like sheet cakes, as you know. Huge compliment!)

Whoo-hoo, what a beautiful cake Rozanne - what were the finished dimensions?  Really nice piping!  Tell us about the hat, books, and diploma.

Thank you Rachel and Patricia! My daughter was on top of the world. I got lots of compliments from the parents and teachers. They usually get the graduation cakes from Costco. Need I say more????????????

Rozanne, lovely, elegant cake!  What a difference from their usual fare (Costco)!  I smiled thinking of your daughter being so proud and happy, not only upon graduating, but also because she is connected to such a beautiful cake.  I hope you all enjoy your summer vacation together.

Thank you Ski smile I made four of these cakes. There were two Kindergarten classes graduating and the school had two ceremonies.

Thank you Julie smile You’re right, my daughter was so happy. She was the star of the day in the eyes of her classmates. Apparently they are still talking about the cake and asking her questions. They all wanted to eat the fondant decorations. Believe it or not they all had a piece of the cake with no leftovers.

Rozanne, Your are amazing!  I can’t believe you made FOUR of them - did they all look exactly the same?  How did you do the vertical stripes up the sides?  You must have a very steady hand - and eye.
