I’m sure your local library will get a copy.  You can request that they purchase one, then you’ll be the first to check it out when it arrives.

SKI#9, just think if you can try hard enough not to buy anymore “GARBAGE PLATES” for about 2 weeks,  you can save enough enough money to purchase the book. grin

First of all an apology, I feel terrible as I have been so busy with other things and the arrival of little Audrey (thanks to all who sent their kind wishes BTW) in the last few months that I haven?t posted much to this wonderful blog but I try to get some more posts out soon?.. especially to all you who have posted your work and results - you are a continuing inspiration!

now…. *deep breath* .............................

WOO HOOOO!
Guess what just arrived in my mailbox!!!!!!! Yes…. THE NEW BOOK!

I am SOOOOO EXCITED!

I have only just had a chance to read the foreword and the acknowledgements so far and already it’s filled me with inspiration!
Rose you are such a generous person in your praise of others, your generosity of spirit so obviously spills over into your work, the new book is divine.

Sincere thanks and continued appreciation for all your hard work Rose - I can’t wait to start trying some out this weekend…...oh… but where to start smile

Cate, no need to apologise. I think most of us are familiar with the sleepless nights and work load involved with having a newborn. Glad you got your book. Happy reading smile

Slapped hand for me!!!  Fancy me not remembering that lovely picture of the two little ones together, I put it down to my age!!!!  LOL!

I have my first attempt in the oven this very minute and I think Annie is doing the same cake, it is the English Gingerbread, what else!  We want to see how it compares to our usual recipes, it looks good so far.  Mine has about 15 mins left before it’s cooked.  I will put a picture on sometime tomorrow if you are interested in seeing how it turns out.  What’s your next one?  By the way, isn’t it a lovely book?

Glory be!  My book arrived a few hours ago, and, boy, was it worth the wait!  I was really moved by the beauty of it.  Then I made a cake - which I dedicate to Ski’s marriage.  Here it is - it’s delicious and easy to make.  It’s the English Gingerbread Cake pp75.

Annie

Edited: Woops I’ve had a problem with the attachment being too big.  Here we go.

Jeannette, please post pictures of your cake. Wish I had a piece now.

Annie, your Gingerbread cake looks so good. You are so sweet to dedicate your cake to Ski. Very thoughtful of you. I love gingerbread cake. I have never made one though. Maybe, it should be my next cake.
