**GASP** - I’m dying here…. it’s hard to pick a favorite!  Your Cranberry (blueberry) Crown Cheesecake and Moist Chocolate Raspberry Genoise photos look like they could have been actual book photos - absolutely stunning!!!!!!!!

I’m so glad you posted these pics!  Of the cakes pictured, which was your favorite?

Thank you Patrincia!  Well, the one that made me loose my self control was the Rose Red Velvet.  I kept going back for more pieces.  I found it a bit addictive, which I didn’t expect at all.

If I had to choose one for company, it wold be the moist raspberry.  I served that one at a dinner party and it was a hit.  Very delicate and refined, but full of flavor.

Also, unlike most people it seems, I don’t like orange and chocolate, but I loved the true orange version with dark chocolate.  My first time enjoying this combination.

Interesting… I’m not at all fond of chocolate and orange together either, but I just might have to give that one a try - thanks for letting me know.

Thanks Rozanne, no, I’m a complete amateur.  I have to give all the credit to Rose.  I’ve really only used the Cake Bible and now the new book.  Before that, I didn’t ever bake much. I also think of myself as more of bread person when it comes to baking (thanks to the Bread Bible), but I enjoy making cakes when I do.  The new book has inspired more cake baking than usual for me.

I can totally relate… never took a cake class, learned absolutely everything from Rose’s Cake Bible - I feel like we grew up together.

Wow Matthew!! Your cakes are absolutely gorgeous!!! That chocolate raspberry genoise is making me drool… Have to try out Rose’s Red Velvet cake. My go-to recipe for this was found on Epicurious (using all butter); and I want to taste Rose’s and compare the two. (Though I have a feeling Rose’s will win…)

Picture perfect, indeed!!! Matthew, your work inspires. Can’t wait to get my hands on Rose’s new book.

So glad you’re having fun with the cakes. Thank you for posting the pictures and telling us a little about your experience. I would love to hear more about your bread, too. That’s my other passion.

Matthew, your cakes look amazing!  I concur about chocolate and orange—I would love to love it but I will too have to see if Rose can convert me!  I would almost kill for a piece of the cheesecake right now—your blueberries look like Saskatoon berries—which are a bit more purple than a blueberry.  I was taken with Rose’s cookbooks beginning with the Bread Bible—and the PPB helped me make my first successful pie crust!  Your shells on the Raspberry cake are picture perfect!

Absolutely gorgeous, Matthew!  Just beautiful cakes.  I have never had a Red Velvet caks, somehow all that red food coloring doesn’t appeal to me.  I am one that loves chocolate and orange together, but it has to be dark chocolate and orange.  My book should arrive on the 15th, at least according to Amazon.  I hope so!

Matthew,

............Great pictures on all of the cakes!

...........where did you get that pan for the golden lemon almond cake?

...........that cheesecake makes me proud to be a blueberry lover, since they got the royal treatment!

.............that genoise, though, just makes me melt. In anticipation of what it tastes like, I can’t even think seriously about any other cake.

.............Wonderful job!
