Amazon is showing a video of Rose covering a cake with her new Lacquer Glaze.  It’s 30 seconds long.  Here’s the link:

Thanks for the link Patricia!  I don’t think I have seen this on Amazon UK, I’ll check again though.  By the way, I was under the impression that Rose had said at some point that there would be a DVD included with her new book, am I right?  Annie also thought the same, but we both may be wrong, obviously we haven’t received our copies yet.

What has tempted you most so far from the new book?

Yes, that is what was said originally.  I believe there was also discussion of video clips being available on the publisher’s website.  Hector is planning on compiling a dvd containing the new book’s youtube videos… maybe he will clarify when he reads this.

What has tempted you most so far from the new book?

I’ve paged through the book countless times, and I still don’t know what my first cake will be.  I’ll probably pick a chocolate option to coincide with this month’s bake-off, but then again, it wouldn’t be unlike me to change my mind at the last minute.  Btw, I’m fascinated with the lacquer glaze.

Rose mentions a “deep chocolate passion cake” in the video about the glaze but I cannot find it in the new book. Does anyone know which cake she is referring to?
Thanks,
Jan

That’s the wedding cake on p.409, which includes a milk chocolate syrup.  The same cake appears in smaller (9” round) format and without the syrup in the German Chocolate Cake.

Hello everyone, the dvd per say refers to the movies Rose recorded with General Mills at the Betty Crockers kitchen.  There are 3 dvs:  bread, cake 1, and cake 2.  General Mills will/does have these movies only online, to be viewed thru Internet only, free of charge.  The same movies will/are on youtube, amazon, and/or wiley;  same, online to be viewed thru Internet only.  It was decided online is the most effective way to for everyone in the world, and it is “free.”

The actual dvd discs (the master recordings) has been given to me, to copy discs for the many people who wants an actual dvd disc, for a nominal fee of costs of copying and mailing. I am doing the copying professionally, the quality is store bought, plus nice.  The cost per dvd disc is $10, including shipping.  You will received a stamped original DVD, not something I burned myself with my computer.  Sounds like a lot of money…  Moreover, I only have the bread dvd available to mail.  Because, for this quality copying, I have to order 200 disc batches, so when my 200 discs leave my home, I will have room (and money) to copy more!  As soon as I mail out the 200 bread discs I have, I will mail cake 1, then cake 2.

Copying the dvds with my computer, one at a time, wasn’t feasible, plus lower quality.  It will take me hours just to copy a few!  Please help me send out the bread dvds, so I can do the cake ones which many people are desiring!

The dvds I am mailing are on NTSC, and not region encoded, any ntsc dvd player in the world will play it.  The dvds are not in PAL.

For your bread dvd, please mail me a check for $10, to Hector Wong, 2888 Ala Ilima St, Suite 2611, Honolulu, HI 96818.  Please write “bread dvd”. You can also paypal to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

When my 200 bread discs are sold, I will make an announcement that cake is baking!

Thank you all for the many fan letters, and lovelly notes, for the bread dvd -:)

Thank you for the link Patricia. This glaze is truly amazing. I made it on Sunday for my mum’s b’day cake. I don’t have pictures b/c my brother took the pictures and he hasn’t e-mailed them to me as yet.

Rozanne, i wrote that review out of my heart the very first morning after sleeping thru new book!  early morning bedside thinking!  Rose is posting it on the blog, and always adding her own fabulous introductions.

Also, stay tuned for my wedding cake preview #4, the final!  the valrhona white chocolate vanilla bean buttercream is to die for, specially with the amount of vanilla seeds i can add from my local grower!  it is flavored with lemon, it really is superb!!!!!!!!
