Thank you all. The cake was a big hit. It was a little hectic making it with a young baby who wanted to be fed non stop. But very enjoyable.
I used plain flour from our local health food shop. My options at the supermarket a slightly limited. Regalice was used for the cake and board. Which i covered in an edible pearl lustre spray. Butter icing with vanilla essence for the middle. Everything was edible except the topper. I ordered that on line. I thought i could keep it as a keepsake, maybe they will use it in years to come.
The sponge was so delicious. So i plan on trying the lacquer glaze very very soon.
I have always been good at the baking. But i only started experimenting with sugar paste this year. My first cake was for my 7 year old daughters birthday. Then Williams 3rd birthday cake.
