So, The Wedding was yesterday and it was a great success.  The whole event was just as I hoped, except for the fact that my Dad was not there….but in spirit.

I think you all would be very proud of the cake.  It was delish ...if I must say so myself. The Bride and Groom were very pleased with it…I even got a request for a Wedding Cake! Not sure if I’m ready for that.

Thank you all for your support through the dead refrigerator/freezer et al

Jeanne, you are my mentor and savior.  Your calls and advice kept me going. Thank you ...Thank you! Claudia

By the way, each 3 layer tier was 6 inches tall and everyone got a beautiful full slice!

I like it! So elegant and pretty. I was reading about your refrigerator/freezer problem and I really felt for you!
I wonder if you will make another cake? Some people can live off the stress. I admire anyone who does a wedding cake!

Thank you sooo much!  This has been a real roller coaster ride.  If it weren’t for the very large bumps in the road I would have enjoyed every minute! Jeanne, I did learn one thing about the Fondant…at least this Pettinice that I used. It rols much better and doesn’t crack when you sprinkle corn starch instead of confectioners sugar.  I found the confectioners sugar dried it out a bit.  Unfortunately, I found it out when I rolled the 24 inch circle for the 12 inch cake. It wasn’t bad, but one of those roses covered up a crack on the top edge of the 12 inch tier.

The most fun was to see tables of adults who had just been drinking alcohol during the cocktail hour and dinner, ask the waiters for glasses of milk to have with their cake!  I knew , then, that they were enjoying the cake!

I was nervous about the 6 inch tiers, but large full slices were served to most , and they looked so pretty.  Now, all I haveare pictures, but I’ve received such lovely e-mails from the guests.

I couldn’t have done it without you!

Hugs to you , as well, Jeanne, and many thanks again to all who have advised me.

By the way, the picture was a side view. The decorations on the tiers were not so close together…Only 3 rose buds on the whole cake.

Lovely cake, Claudia!  Congratulations on triumphing despite your freezer issues!  What did you end up using for the cake/frosting/filling?
