Does anyone make crumbcake with a layer of apples between the cake and the crumbs? I’d like to try this, but not sure how to do the apple layer - just raw spiced up apples, partially cooked spiced up apples, partially cooked apples thickened, as for an apple pie filling, fully cooked thickened apple pie filling? So many choices, LOL.
I’m talking about a cake base, not a yeasted base.
