Hi again,

I guess everyone knows that I have a wedding cake to do for May 1 along with cupcakes and am having some troubling thoughts about the whole affair.  I am thinking of making 24 cupcakes that have an aqua fondant covering on top, but…. what would the easiest way be to get the fondant onto the cupcakes?  confused

I’ve never used rolled fondant…so I’m probably not the one to comment here…but have you thought about poured fondant?  you could tint it with food color and dip the cupcakes in it…it would probably give a very smooth finish and be quite fast and easy.  Just a thought. Poured fonant is soooo easy to make with a food processor and a good candy thermometer…check out the recipe in the cake bible.

Yes, Denim, it is easy.
Roll the fondant very thin then cut the circles with a cutter of the appropriate diameter.
Trim the cupcake with a knife to give it a more uniform surface (if you want so, or you can leave the cupcake as it is but the fondant will show)
Apply a thin coat of piping gel on the cupcake then cover it with the fondant and smooth it with your fingers then with a smoother.
