Gorgeous cakes Matthew. I love your take on the coconut cake - with the split coconut.
I’ve made the coconut cake and really liked it as well. Agree with you that the ingredients are not expensive and I’ve spent more on chocolate cake with chocolate ganache.

Oh Matthew - absolute perfection, as usual!!  I would do just about anything for a slice of that coconut cake!  LOVE your photos, and your consistently flawless execution.

Matthew:
I haven’t had much time online…sorry for not commenting sooner…but these are just beautiful!  Really AMAZING!.  I also make many more 7” cakes than full size cakes.

Matthew,  You inspire us!  My husband loves the look of your cakes and wanted me to make the RHC ~ Chocolate Tomato Cake with Mystery Ganache. Thank-You Matthew!

What a nice compliment Darm! Your photos are so beautiful, they look like they belong in a magazine! Was my description accurate as to the flavor of the cake?

Matthew,  Thank you, I appreciate your compliment too. Your description was right on target. The cake is so moist and no it doesn’t taste like Tomato Soup. You would never know that it was in the cake or in the ganache. Love, love, love the 7inch pans.  Thanks again Matthew!

matthew—these are positively brilliant! the texture of the cake crumb, the design, the photography. it all looks so appetizing. i’m utterly awed. and i must admit that when i got the award one of my first thoughts was: thank you matthew for your meticulous proof-reading!

You probably don’t need to hear this again, Matthew, but these cakes are so beautiful (and so beautifully photographed) that I never tire of revisiting your post to gaze at them….not sure whether that is a tribute to your skills or just makes me sound strange, haha!  Seriously though, I aspire to create a cake as gorgeous as one of these.  I’m still at the stage where I’m happy if all of the science works and it tastes great.  Aesthetics to follow soon, though, I hope!

I don’t get tired of hearing it smile And I don’t think you’re strange either—I take it as a compliment!
