Wow, I can’t believe your cake got such bad reviews, especially after you sampled it and knew it was delicious. How much time elapsed from baking to serving? Btw, it’s absolutely one of the cutest cakes ever!! Very much like the super mario cake that hit the scene with a bang a few years back, but I actually like the softer colors you used even better. Some people complain just to see if they can get a refund, others to get a fee cake in the future. So sorry this happened to you.
Thanks for the words of comfort Patrincia. It was such a disappointment. It was baked on Thursday night and served on Sat. It was kept completely sealed, and refrigerated after cooling. It was not refrigerated prior to serving. I continued to sample the test cakes EACH DAY to make sure the flavor wasn’t turning. That cake does not last long, but it certainly tasted great the day of serving, considering my scraps were NOT sealed like the cake was! She’s getting her free cake alright, straight from a box this time!
I even made another order with the same batter that day, and carved it into what I lovingly named “The Chockroach Cake!”. It was for a local pest control company’s display table at the home and garden fair. Perhaps I should post it just for kicks, I don’t know though. This is such a sophisticated forum!
