My assistant at work is “Celebrating” her 30th…oops pardon me…Twenty-tenth birthday today.  She didn’t want any fuss…and certainly no “Birthday cake”. (Can you imagine being upset about 30?  I wish I was 30). She did say that although she didn’t want a birthday cake…she wanted a cake LOL.  She requested “that lemon one you make”.  So Last night I got to work on a genoise classique with lemon curd filling, lemoncello in the syrup, and lemon mousseline.  Lemon lemon lemon.  We’ve already eaten about 1/2 of the cake…and there are only three of us.

Funny about turning 30, I dreaded it at the time.  But then 40 was much easier, didn’t bother me at all.

Oooh, that looks tempting! I love how it seems to dazzle with all it’s lemony facets! The lemon curd sounds divine, too. Ahh, all of it. Just send one my way when I turn thirty, ok? *gulp, did I just admit that to all of you?* I’ll pay for overnight shipping! LOL Four years is enough time to start making payments on it!
Seriously now, I also love how you textured the top. It just screams melt-in-your-mouth sophisticated. Lovely creation, and very kind of you might I add.

Oh…and I have the most amazing women working for me.  I"m very very very lucky.  They deserve everything I bake for them…and then some.  I only wish I could afford to pay them more.
