As an FYI, now that I am a Sr. Member,* I’ve changed my name from rosetheoes (named after an old english sheepdog of ours) to my Anne in NC, as I am Anne and live in Charlotte, NC.

After this weekend, I’ll change my pic to my most recent cake!

Happy day, all!

* How did that happen?  I don’t feel very senior, so it must have happened mostly through thanking folks for their help!

Hi, Jenn!

I have a friend who has a yarn shop in Boulder—Judy of http://www.theknitter.com  She .and her daughter often go down to Denver for the symphony, which they love.  I hear Colorado is a lovely place!

Hey Anne in NC…. I loved the old name with the dog…. And your avatar is really fun. Doesn’t the senior member make you feel old?

I didn’t want folks to think I was copping “our” Rose’s moniker, and when my sister read it, she’s like, “What’s Rose Theos,” so I thought it could be confusing.

Glad you like the avatar!  It’s a little drawing of my husband and self.  I have another little one that inclues Fran, another sheepdog.

The only time I really feel old is when I hear, randomly, how old one of my ex-boss’s children is, becuase I remember when they were babies!!!  It always makes me feel really, REALLY old!!!

You’re so right with the kids. I think this is why I still feel like a kid at 45 - I don’t have kids, and most people I hang out with have either grown kids or no kids, so I don’t see time flying as they age…

I can dig it!  I’m 43 with no kids and, although children are wonderful, I’m very glad I have none of my own.  But I see one thing you do have:  A lamb!!!!!!!!!  OMG, now, that is wonderful!!!!  Is it super-cute?  I just love them.  We raised horses (thoroughbreds) when I was growing up, and I remember asking my father at the county fair if we couuld get a lamb because they were SOOOOOO cute.  He was all for it, but the mater nixed it.  Such is life for an 8 year old!

Love those chickies, too.  I get my eggs from a woman at work whose father has some yard chickens, and they are the most amazing things.  I boil them for about 4 minutes, so the whites are just cooked and the yolks are warm. I like eating the yolks in one big warm bite.

Happy barnyarding to you!  And Happy Friday!

No, actually the lambs are from my favorite farmer, and she does a great job with raising them. I just visit… We have too chaotic a life to have any responsibility beyond our cats, and even that’s pushing it!

Happy Friday, mine is almost gone, I’m in Shanghai about to fall asleep after a great dinner and catching up with a good friend. Looking forward to a cooking class in Beijing on Sunday, then it’s more meetings, and then I’m back in my kitchen in time to make a cake for the June bake-off!

I love soft boiled eggs, we have them almost every morning! Soooooo good! I like mine with buttered salted bread. 4 minutes sounds short, though-can’t stand uncooked egg white…
