I will be making a 3 tier white fondant wedding cake in May.  The picture of the cake has coral and seagrass painted on additional fondant - bottom tier 5"w x 6"h -  middle tier 4"w x 6"h - top tier 3"w x 6"h ( I am guessing on the sizes if it is 6 x 9 x 12 tiers )wraps from the bottom of the cake to the botton of the next teir on all three tiers.  So it look like carpet coming down the cake.  Their are three different sets of these coming down the cake.  Does anyone know how to paint on a fondant cake.

By hand:  lemon juice or vodka mixed with powdered colors - then brush on with a nice quality brush.  Can be sponged on too.

You may also mix Americolor gels with vodka to get the right consistency for painting on fondant.  It’s a lovely technique!

I haven’t seen powdered food coloring.  I’ve been using gel. Where do you buy the powdered kind?
