I’m making a novelty cake to resemble a Scrabble game.  I plan to cover the cake with fondant to make the game board.  What would be the best way to make the letter tiles?  Fondant? White chocolate? Marizpan? Something else?  I would like for the tiles to have crisp straight edges.

Fondant would be easier to write on later (with edible markers) to add the letters.  Let the fondant squares dry overnight.

There is an episode of Ace of Cakes on Food network…which they rerun a lot.  They do a cake like a scrabble board,  I don’t remember what they used…but it looked great.  Perhaps, if you get food network, you could find the episode.
