Thanks for the concern, Hawaii is made of 5 plus islands, about 30 to 45 minutes apart by plane. The most populated island is called Oahu, where I live, and where Waikiki, Honolulu, Pearl Harbor, and the most commonly known places are.
The eruption is on the island of Big Island, and indeed the eruption is FAN and FUN TASTIC. A few people have lost their homes, but with much warning, as usual normally, the lava flow is very slow, so you get time to evacuate, and perhaps even months or years to relocate your house to another location! There is a church that was moved about 10 plus years ago when something similar happened.
We are actually exited, as now more tourists will come to visit, indeed, the flow is now 1 hours from my home in Hilo (Big Island) and I can’t wait to check things out.
Thanks for the concern again. Lava won’t reach my island, no way, unless some world wide catasthropic event will happen, and THAT you will see first hands! Sounds strange really.
