Can someone recommend a pastry brush that doesn’t on occasion shed a hair somewhere in your dessert/bread for a guest to discover.  Thanks.

I use the Oxo silicone pastry brush which is highly recommended by Cook’s Illustrated.  I am no where near the level you guys are but, so far, so good.

Oxo makes 2 sizes of brushes.  The larger size is more for basting.  The smaller size is a pastry brush.

They do the job beautifully, IMO, and clean up is a breeze

I also have a silicone brush which I bought for the very reason you complain of, but I don’t like it as much a conventional brush, it doesn’t cover as well, in my opinion.

I buy all my brushes here.  I buy the natural board brushes and they don’t shed, plus they stay soft.
I do not put them in the dishwasher
