Hello all.  I’ll be attending a 50th b-day party for a very dear friend named Donna.  Donna moved from New York to San Diego many years ago (15 perhaps?) but somehow we have managed to stay in touch.  Her husband is throwing her a 50th party in new york so her friends and family can attend…and I did the cake.  So…this is red velvet with white chocolate cream cheese frosting.  the cake is 9” x 13” and 5” high.  Probably bigger than we need…but better more than not enough!

Bill, that is a beautiful, beautiful cake.  It’s a good thing you use Rose’s cakes—I can’t imagine any other cakes that could do your amazing decorating justice!!!

Can’t go wrong with red velvet and white chocolate cream cheese.  The cake is beautiful, and I bet it will be even more delicious since you’re celebrating a special occasion with an old friend!!

The party was last night…It was just beautiful, in a lovely restaurant, with great people, and…the cake was a hit!

This cake is currently under consideration as a possible, and I was wondering—I know it was a big hit at the party, but how did you like it?  Rose’s recipe is a bit different than others I’ve seen/made, especially in that it uses whites and oil.  I’d probably use all butter if I made it, though.
