I am at my brothers house and baking between power tools.  smile

The cookie sheets he has are very thick.  My spritz cookies are too dark on the bottom and too light on the top.

I lowered the temp and took them out sooner.  They are lighter on the bottom but still not browning on top..at all.

What am I doing wrong?

Also:

Do I sprinkle the sanding sugar on before or after I bake them?

Thanks!

Assuming your recipe hasn’t changed, then your oven temperature is probably off.  Suggest purchasing an oven thermometer to place inside the oven.  In lieu of that, I’d reduce the temperature further; the cookies WILL brown on top if left in the oven long enough.

Also consider moving them to a higher rack to help with browning the tops.
