Wow, the people working on this website are fantastic!  I just got an email about a post and lo and behold, the response was first and the link stuff was below, just as I had suggested. Way to go, thanks a bunch!

How do you draw another member’s attention to a query about one of their old postings? Only via a PM?

Not sure I understand the question, but I’ll give it a go.  If you click on “member list” (located under the gold medal symbol), then click on the member’s name, then click “PM” and send your private message that way.

Thanks for replying. Sorry to be confusing. My train of thought was that I see some topics are quite old and there have been no postings for some time. Threads also go off at a tangent to the original posting.

If I wanted to pick up one of these earlier threads and not the tangent, and say the person is yourself, how would you know that I posted a question? It wouldn’t be in the Forums as this is only a recent development. The only way I could see to do it would be to send you a private message at the same time as posting, is that correct? Hopefully I’m clearer this time.

Still not sure if I’m answering your question, but here goes again:

When you post a message on any thread, that thread will be moved to the top of it’s forum and everyone who signs on will see that there is a new posting.

I hope that helped question

Sadly, once a person has ignored one message on an old thread, that person will not receive another email about that thread until they visit the site.  (This keeps you from getting dozens of emails from a very busy thread.)

So yes, to remind someone to come and participate, you need to send them a Private Message.
