Hello, I’m really excited about making strudel dough for the first time. However, the only table I have that might be appropriate is a 32” x 38” kitchen island. Will this work or should I invest in a card table? Thanks

megan, I’m sorry I haven’t made the strudel, though reading about it just now makes me think it’s high time I did!

It sounds like it would be easiest to make it on a 36” -48” round surface, but given the final shape, I do wonder if a rectangular version might work.  Just speculating, though.

Please report back on your results, and maybe include a pic.

I have also wanted to make the strudel dough, but I find it too intimidating!  I hope yours turns out well.

I looked in another cookbook I have “Kaffeehaus” by Rick Rodgers and he says you can use a 23” x 48” surface. My coffee table is that size! Strudel-making in the living room, my husband will love that! 

Excellent, coffee-table strudel!  I’d take that over a coffee-table book, anyday.
