I just got done with my attempt at Rose’s Apple Caramel Charlotte from Rose’s Heavenly Cakes.  It turned out to be a beautiful cake though not quite as perfect as Rose’s.

Somehow the Apple Caramel Custard was a little too thick so that gave me a little spin but in the long run the cake turned out just fine.

Your charlotte looks so pretty with those tinted petals—I never would have thought to use food coloring!  I’m always petrified I’ll use a few drops too many and have it look like the equivalent of garish red lipstick…but yours is perfect.  Love the blog!  You make spun sugar look so easy…
