Weather & Crumbly Cookies

I live in the tropics and it is monsoon season.  My usually sought-after oatmeal raisin cookies and peanut butter cookies are now so soft and crumbly one can hardly pick them up much less keep them in the cookie jar. What to do??!!

I wonder if some sort of desiccant would work; you know, like those packets they put in jars of medication to prevent moisture from damaging the capsules.  If you don’t have access to such products, perhaps surrounding your cookies with something that absorbs moisture would help, such as rice, which we use in salt shakers to keep the salt from clumping.
