My birthday was this past Sunday and since I’m baking through Rose’s Heavenly cakes,  I decided to make myself a birthday cake.  Shameless, I know.

I chose the Chocolate Raspberry Trifle which ended up being a great choice. It turned out to be really pretty and big enough to serve at a party.  After doing the Saint Honore Trifle a couple months ago, I thought this would be as much work.  But this cake was either a lot easier or I’ve gotten a little better at cooking.  It too half the time.

Gorgeous!  Looks scrumptious.  I, too, love having the opportunity to bake—even if it’s for my birthday.  Wouldn’t be as good if the hubby tried to bake—ha ha!

It looks so pretty.  And I am sure the taste was amazing.  I too, like to bake my own birthday cakes.  My hubby would use duncan hines or betty crocker.  :lo
