The timer on the Cuisinart actually shuts the machine off. Only a minor convenience; I’ve got a lot of digital timers around the kitchen and setting them is a habit.
The Bosch can do everything. The standard configuration only includes twin whisks and twin dough hooks. There is no paddle. If you want to make cookies, you would start off creaming the butter with the whisks, but would transition to the dough hook after adding the flour. From videos, that seems to work well. However, I bought the “cookie paddles” accessory, along with a scraper blade attachment. The paddles work great for cookies.
To me, this style of mixer is vastly more sensible than any top motor sort of design. I kick myself for buying the Cuisinart, but at the time, I had decided on the Electrolux and everyone in the US was out of stock on that, and I needed a mixer fast.
