Hi all, I am in the middle of a 3 tier American style wedding cake- the bottom tier is a 10 inch well fed with brandy Fruit cake-,herein lies the problem. I think I have overfed it( it is 7 weeks old)I have marzipanned it and fondant iced it 2 days ago and the icing feels slightly tacky on the sides What if anything can I do.. There is no discolouration on the icing I am just fearful that it wont slice well- any idea anyone..
