I use Rose’s chart to calculate wedding cake portions but does anyone have a chart or website that will help to calculate regular servings of cake? My aunt is organizing a church dance and asked me how much cake she will need to order for appox 250 ppl. The cake and cookies will be the only dessert. I’d really appreciate any help any one of you can offer. I have no idea how to calculate this for such a large group of people.    Thanks.

Rozanne, I would use Rose’s chart for wedding cake and time it by 2, whenever you want a dessert size.  As simple as that, and as always:  rule of thumb is to always make less cake.

I agree with Hector - double Rose’s chart and you’ll get what you need… two of her wedding cake portions will equal one standard cake slice (not to be confused with the gigantic slices you might be served in a restaurant though).
