Hello Everyone!
It has been a while since i have posted anything - but i have been practicing - since i am a beginner.

My friend asked for a thanksgiving cake that he can bring to his family for the holiday.  I was given “baker’s choice” on everything - style, flavor - you name it…so this is what i came up with…chocolate cake with Rose’s Chocolate Buttercream - but i have to be honest - i add alot more chocolate than her recipe calls for.

I used an oak leaf cutter and dusted with multiple luster and petal dusters…i hand sculpted the acorns and dusted them as well.
Thanks for looking and it is great to be back posting again!

Really, really beautiful!  I love the leaves and the acorns—their shape and color are both so pretty!

I always add 1T more butter (per layer) to Rose’s chocolate cakes!

littlelottie, love the Autumn cake!  Isn’t it great when someone gives you “baker’s choice”?  Those are always my favorite smile  what did you make the leaves out of?  are they fondant, or gumpaste, or modeling/plastic chocolate?  Happy to “see” you back posting, too!

Thanks everyone Flour Girl -
@Julie - since i am still a little amateur at decorating, i used only fondant.  I have not used the 50/50 mixture of fondant / gumpaste yet.  Some told me that is the only way to do it - but so far i am doing ok with just the fondant.  I also have yet to venture in modeling chocolate…that might be next.
I have to admit - baker’s choice is the best!
