I made these up for a combined birthday party for my two daughters. Nothing super special, but tasty and nice looking.

Cake 1:
- white chocolate lemon cake from RHC
- lemon curd filling
- SMBC with lemon oil frosting

Cake 2:
- chocolate cake, recipe from smittenkitchen
- whipped dark ganache filling
- SMBC frosting with vanilla

Both were two tier, four layers in each tier. Apple decorations on top were made from MMF with paste colors kneaded in.

They look pretty special to me!  You managed to get the sides and top very smooth, not an easy feat.  They look great, happy birthday to your girls!

Two cute cakes! I love the pretty inside picture of your lemoncake. It looks so yummie! And perfectly made.
Any idea what resulted in the difference in texture of the down cakes to the upper two white chocolate lemon cakes?  I am planning to make this cake in the future and woulf love the upper crump, it looks so scrumptious! But the same recipe can result in a more denser crump as well. Isn’t that real baking science!
