Here is the blue ribbon cake from the chocolate cake bake-off! Thanks for all of the input you all gave me regarding recipes etc.  This is the Chocolate Fudge Cake with Dark Chocolate Ganache frosting.  I also added Mocha Tequila in place of the cognac in the frosting and it was sensational.  The violets were a last minute addition that I really enjoyed.  One of these days I’ll get a perfectly smooth frosting layer, but until then this will do! Thanks Rose!

Congratulations!!!! Your cake looks amazing and of course we all know it tasted better than it looks. Frosting doesn’t always have to be smooth…....... Love your colour combination, the violets were a great idea.

What a beautiful cake!  Congratulations!  The fudge cake, in my view, is the best of the best and your flowers on top are the ‘icing on the cake’!

Congratulations! I’m so happy for you, and what a beautiful cake.  The flowers are great, and I think the frosting is fine- very appropriate for a chocolate cake.  Are there any leftovers?

Thanks you guys! I couldn’t wait to share my photos with you all.  Sadly, there wasn’t even a crumb of cake left.  On Sunday I found myself with a big craving for more chocolate cake so I went ahead and made the All-American Chocolate Torte.  My word that is a delicious cake too.  Soooooo chocolatey.  No need for frosting on that one.  Now I just wanna bake more cakes!!

Matty, you HAVE to try the chocolate Domingo cake next. That’s if you are not already on chocolate over-load….....
